Send me your last three card statements. I will tell you what you are really paying.
On one page, split by card type, with every fee named. If your contract is good, that is what the page will say, and you will not hear from me again.
And if you do want to switch afterwards: separate rates per card type from 1.29 percent, no monthly fee, no minimum term, terminal and spare included.
What you get back
One page with your own numbers
Every month your card company sends a bill. Almost nobody reads it, because it is written so that you will not. I read it.
- Your actual rate per card type: German debit, European credit cards, corporate cards, cards from outside the European Economic Area.
- Every item that is not a percentage: terminal rental, service charges, minimum turnover clauses, payout fees.
- Which of those are negotiable and which are not.
- When your current contract ends and by when you would have to give notice.
- What switching would save or cost you per year, in euros.
In houses with business travellers, the largest item is almost always corporate and non-European cards. That is exactly the line no statement ever breaks out.
If your contract is good, I tell you so and leave. That happens. An honest no is worth more to me than a customer who regrets it in six months.
Price
Separate rates per card type, not one flat price
1.29 %
for debit cards, which in Germany is the most common case
| Debit cards EEA, Visa and Mastercard | 1.29 % |
|---|---|
| Credit cards EEA, personal cards | 1.49 % |
| Business and corporate cards | Interchange + x % |
| Virtual cards from booking platforms | Interchange + x % |
| Cards from outside the EEA | Interchange + x % |
| American Express | 3.29 % |
| Per transaction | 0.05 euros |
| Monthly fee | 0.00 euros |
| Terminal and spare device | 0.00 euros |
| Setup and on-site installation | 0.00 euros |
| Minimum term | none |
| Notice period | none |
| Minimum turnover | none |
Why separate rates and not one flat price: a single rate on all cards looks simpler and is almost always more expensive for you, because it bills the cheapest card at the price of the dearest one. Here a debit card costs you less than a credit card, and a credit card less than a card from overseas, because that is what they actually cost.
What this price is made of
Every card payment splits three ways before anything reaches you. Most statements show you only the total.
- The interchange fee. It goes to your guest's bank, for having given them the card. Nobody negotiates this, myself included. On personal cards an EU regulation caps it at 0.2 percent for debit and 0.3 for credit. On business cards, and on the virtual cards booking platforms issue, it is not capped and often runs at two percent.
- The scheme fee. A small amount to Visa or Mastercard for running the network. Also not negotiable.
- My share. What is left. The only part anyone can discuss, and the only part I live on.
Where the table says interchange plus, I pass parts one and two through unchanged and earn only on part three. There is a reason for that which concerns you: on a flat rate, your provider earns more when your guests use cheap cards. He charges you 2.4 percent on a card that cost him 0.3. Billed separately, my share stays the same whichever card arrives, and I no longer have a quiet bet running on the mix of your guests.
It is also why I quote no fixed percentage on business cards. A fixed rate on a card whose wholesale cost I cannot see would be either too expensive for you or a loss for me. Neither would last.
If your current statement shows one single rate for every card, you are paying this split as well. You simply cannot see it. Working it out is exactly what I do when you send me three statements.
Honesty requires this too: my terminals accept German bank cards over Visa Debit and Debit Mastercard, not over the domestic girocard scheme. In daily use that changes nothing, the card is tapped and the payment goes through. In rare cases a card without an international co-badge will not work. Then the credit card does, and you know about it in advance rather than finding out at reception.
No setup fee. No terminal rental. No monthly minimum. No penalty for a quiet January. No cent charge on small tickets.
All prices plus VAT. As of July 2026.
For houses that already have a sharply negotiated contract, switching often does not pay. For those there is a second offer: keep your current provider, and take the terminal, the support and the reporting from me for a fixed monthly fee. Which of the two is cheaper for you is settled once your statements have been read.
The difference
What a general provider does not give you
Most providers sell the same device to bakeries, hairdressers and taxi firms. Something built for everyone is built for no one. Any provider can do the top four rows. The lower eight exist because I work with hotels and hospitality only.
Accepting cards, contactless and by phone✓✓
Payout to your account✓✓
A monthly statement✓✓
A device that works✓✓
Every card type at its own price✗✓
Chargebacks defended with the registration form✗✓
No penalty in a quiet month✗✓
A spare device in your drawer from day one✗✓
Remote support, one person answerable for the whole fault✗✓
Reachable until 21:00, seven days✗✓
Training that survives a change of staff✗✓

The top four rows are not a weakness in the others. They are the reason a price comparison on its own says so little: when everyone can do the same thing, what happens afterwards is what decides.
Who answers
You have exactly one contact person
Carlos Pena Rodriguez
I work in breakfast service at a hotel here in Bad Reichenhall and I have been in hospitality for a little over a year.
This did not start at a desk. It started as a guest. Over the past months I stood in several restaurants where I was told the terminal was not working right now. Not once, but again and again. At some point I started working out what card payments actually cost a business and where they fail in daily use.
I write the Braigez software myself. So whoever calls here speaks to the person who built the system.
Call me: +49 155 69106023
Daily 13:30 to 21:00, weekends included. I answer myself.
Outside those hours write to me at the bottom right of this page and describe what is not working. Your message comes straight to me. When I call you back in the morning I already know your case and I bring the answer with me, instead of starting with questions. I do not promise round-the-clock availability, because I cannot keep it alone. Eleven to midnight I keep.
Switching
You sign twice. I do the rest.
- I cancel your old contract. I write the letter, you sign it, I send it and I watch the deadline. German terminal contracts often run 36 to 60 months and renew automatically for another year if the date is missed.
- I install it myself, on a morning of your choosing. Not a technician who comes at some point. I come at the shift handover in the early afternoon, when two shifts are present and the house is quiet.
- The old terminal stays connected until the new one is proven. At no minute do you have a front desk without card payments.
Afterwards one person in your house gets a proper briefing, usually the front office manager. Next to every terminal there is a laminated card with the five things that actually go wrong and what to do about each. Whoever starts with you next year will still find that card there.
When something fails
What I can fix from a desk, and what I cannot
A payment system whose website never mentions failure has not abolished it.
Remotely, usually in minutes: check device status and connectivity, change configuration, trigger a restart, read and fix errors in the software. This needs your written consent, and every access is logged.
What I never see: your guests' card data. Remote support cannot display card numbers and it does not touch the certified payment application. That is the architecture, not a promise.
If the hardware is broken: from day one there is a second, pre-configured device in your drawer. A Friday evening failure is a phone call, not a lost weekend.
If the payment platform fails: I cannot fix that, and nobody in this industry can. You get a message from me within minutes with what I know, and we go through the procedure we agreed in advance.
Honestly
Who I am not right for
- Houses that need an account manager and a call centre. Here you get a mobile number and a person. For some operations that is not enough structure.
- Businesses that want till, property system and payments on one invoice. I cannot deliver that and do not want to.
- Restaurants below about 25,000 euros of monthly card turnover and hotels below about 40,000 euros. Below that, switching is not worth the effort for you, and honestly not for me either. A provider like SumUp is fair at that size. Call me when you grow.
- Anyone who needs to reach someone at three in the morning. Eleven to midnight I keep. Anything beyond that would be a promise I break.
To verify
Who actually moves your money
Your card turnover is processed by a payment institution licensed in the European Union and paid out from there directly into your account. The name of the institution appears here once the contract is signed.
The money never sits with me. It does not pass through my account and it is not forwarded by me. I build the device, the software and the service around it.
Your guests' card data is not stored by me and does not reach my systems. Your statements and business data sit on servers in the European Union and are deleted when we stop working together.
Legal form, commercial register entry and tax number follow once the company is formed. I currently act as a sole trader, see Impressum.
Questions
What I am asked most
What does this really cost me per month?
Separate rates by card type from 1.29 percent, plus 5 cents per transaction, plus VAT. The terminal and the spare cost nothing. No monthly fee, no rental, no service charge, no minimum turnover, no term.
I am inside a running contract. Can I switch at all?
Usually only in a window of three to six months before the contract ends, and many contracts renew automatically by twelve months if you miss it. I will tell you your date for free even if you do not switch: look up notice periods (in German).
What happens if the device fails on a Saturday evening?
You call me, until 21:00, weekends included. Most problems I can fix remotely. If the hardware is broken, a second configured device is already in your drawer.
Do you see my guests' card data?
No. Remote support cannot display card numbers, and card data is not stored by me. That is how it is built, not just what I say.
How quickly is my money in the account?
The payout comes from the processing payment institution directly into your account. I will give you the exact rhythm in the offer, together with a statement on which every fee is itemised and which your tax adviser can book.
What if I am not happy in a year?
Then you leave. There is no minimum term and no notice period. No exit fee and nothing to pay off.
Who owns the terminal?
I do. You neither buy it nor rent it. I provide the device and the spare, you pay no monthly fee and no rental for them, and I finance both through the transaction fee. In exchange the devices stay my property and come back to me if we stop working together. That is the honest trade for paying nothing at the start and being free to leave at any time.
You are one person. What if you are unavailable?
A fair question. Processing your payments does not depend on me but on the licensed institution behind it, and it continues. What depends on me is the service. That is why I only take on as many businesses as I can genuinely look after, and say so when I am full.
Contact
Three ways, and what each costs you
- Call: +49 155 69106023
Daily 13:30 to 21:00. I answer myself. Two minutes is enough to start. - Write: [email protected]
Reply the same or the next day. - Send statements
Three monthly statements from your card provider, photos are fine. Not the bank statements, the provider statements with the fees on them. You get one page back.
I do not make unsolicited calls and I do not send marketing email.
Upload your statements here
Up to three files, PDF or photo. I read them, do the arithmetic and send you one page with your own numbers. Free, and you hear nothing further from me if you do not want to.
A service provider does the reading on my behalf. What happens there, and how to avoid it, is in the privacy notice (in German). Prefer post or email? Then I read them myself, it just takes longer.
